Description
A sculpted dragon coils over the brewing pot; flambe-glazed cups flash blue starbursts. The most theatrical set in the shop.
Product Story
Flambe (kiln-change) glaze is unstable by design: copper and cobalt move in the fire, so the burst pattern inside each cup is unrepeatable. The dragon wears the same midnight palette, its scales picked out where the glaze pools.
The dragon body is slip-cast and hand-finished before glazing — mould seams are cleaned by hand and the head is attached separately. Tea steeps in the upper chamber and releases into the pitcher below.
- Sculptural dragon wraps the pot — head, scales and claws fully modelled
- Semi-automatic brewing: the pot decants through the spout into the fair cup below
- Eight cups with flambe 'starburst' interiors — every one fires differently
- Flambe glaze shifts between midnight blue, violet and ice highlights
- A statement centrepiece for collectors and serious gift-giving

The Making
The dragon body is slip-cast and hand-finished before glazing — mould seams are cleaned by hand and the head is attached separately. Tea steeps in the upper chamber and releases into the pitcher below.
Care
Hand wash carefully around the dragon’s fins and whiskers — a soft brush helps. No dishwasher, no microwave. The heavy base prefers a padded shelf between sessions.
The dragon is fully sculpted — head, claws, scales — and the flambe cup interiors flash different starbursts in every single firing, so your eight cups will each be different, and different from the photos. Clean around the dragon with a soft brush rather than a sponge. This is the most theatrical thing in the shop; it makes an unforgettable gift for someone who already owns the basics.

Unreal glaze. The flambe glaze on this set is stunning — deep cobalt with these fiery streaks that no photo fully captures. Pours cleanly and the cups feel great in the hand. Makes my afternoon tea feel a little ceremonial.
