Description

A grand Ming-style blue-and-white jar with a powerful cobalt dragon coiling across the full rounded body.

Product Story

This imperial-kiln style guan jar is made to command a room. The full body is painted in deep cobalt with a five-clawed dragon moving through scrolling clouds and fruiting vines, balanced by lappet bands at the shoulder and base and a reign-mark detail at the neck. Dramatic, architectural, and museum-inspired.

Key Features

  • Ming-style blue-and-white porcelain guan jar
  • Bold cobalt dragon, cloud, and fruiting-vine composition
  • Shoulder and base lappet bands for a formal imperial look
  • Reign-mark detail at the neck
  • Statement decor piece for console, cabinet, study, or collector display

Use / Styling Ideas

Give it space and contrast: place it on a black plinth, dark console, or spotlighted shelf. It works best as a single centerpiece rather than a crowded accent.

Gift / Collector Note

A strong collector-style gift for lovers of blue-and-white porcelain, dragon symbolism, and grand statement decor.

Make the dragon jar the centerpiece of the room.

Care

Handle gently, clean with a soft cloth, and avoid sudden temperature swings.

Our largest piece, at 33 cm tall — a Ming-style jar, meaning made in the classical manner, not an antique, and priced as the serious decorative statement it is. The dragon wraps the full circumference, so it has no ‘bad side’ on a console. This one ships in our most heavily protected double-box with corner bracing; allow extra transit care time.

FAQ

Is this an antique?+
No — it is a Ming-style piece, newly made in the classical guan-jar manner. You get the presence of the form without the auction price or the fragility of age.
What does the dragon design mean?+
The five-clawed dragon among clouds and fruiting vines is the classic emblem of power and good fortune — the motif that once marked imperial wares.
Where does a jar like this work best?+
Anywhere it can be seen in the round: console tables, mantels, entry halls. It is a display piece first — though nothing stops you using it as a very grand vase.

The real deal. Big, impressive piece with serious presence on the shelf. The dragon is hand-painted beautifully. It’s expensive, but you can tell it’s authentic the moment you hold it. Arrived with zero damage thanks to the careful packaging.
