Description
A hand-brushed blue-and-white jar for loose leaf tea — banana-leaf motif, fitted lid, and a speckled cream glaze that reads pleasantly old.
Product Story
The body is glazed a warm cream with fine dark specks, closer to old stoneware than bright white porcelain. The banana leaves and shoulder ring are brushed in grey-blue underglaze, so the pattern sits under the surface and will not rub off.
Each jar is painted by hand before glazing — leaf veins are drawn line by line, which is why no two jars match exactly. The lid is cut to rest flush on the shoulder rather than snap tight.
- Hand-brushed indigo banana-leaf motif — line work varies slightly from jar to jar
- Fitted flat lid with a small painted flower on top
- Speckled cream glaze with a softly aged, antique-market look
- Wide, stable cylinder that sits well on open shelves
- Works for loose leaf tea, coffee beans, or as a lidded catch-all

The Making
Each jar is painted by hand before glazing — leaf veins are drawn line by line, which is why no two jars match exactly. The lid is cut to rest flush on the shoulder rather than snap tight.
Care
Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and dry fully before refilling. The lid rests on the jar rather than sealing airtight — for long tea storage keep leaves in an inner bag. No dishwasher or microwave.
The line work on this jar is genuinely brushed, so expect the banana leaves to lean a little differently on each one — that wobble is the point. The lid sits flat and snug but is not airtight; for long-term tea storage we suggest keeping the leaf in its foil pouch inside the jar. The speckled cream glaze reads more ‘old country kitchen’ than showroom-new, which is exactly why we picked it.

Pretty AND functional. The lid seals nicely so my oolong actually stays fresh. The hand-painted blue and white is lovely, and I love that it’s a working jar rather than just decoration. Came wrapped like they genuinely cared about it arriving intact.
