Material & craft

The clay is dressed in a plain warm-white glaze with a slightly stony, eggshell feel rather than a glassy shine. The concentric throwing ridges are left visible instead of being polished away.

Why we selected it

The forms are simple on purpose: a low gaiwan, a lipped bowl for decanting, and cups that sit naturally in the palm. Brewed tea shows amber and gold against the pale interior.
