Material & craft

This classic Jingdezhen-style set features cobalt-blue dragons chasing flaming pearls, classic key-fret borders, and the famous linglong rice-grain pierced porcelain body. When held toward light, the tiny translucent grains illuminate like small stars, giving the set a rare sense of wonder.

Why we selected it

Display with pale linen, warm window light, or a backlit shelf so the rice-grain pattern can glow. Ideal as a table centerpiece, collector wall display, or cabinet highlight.

Before you order

Questions buyers actually ask.

What should I look for in the backlight test?
Hold a piece up to a lamp: the rice-grain pattern turns luminous as light passes through the glaze-filled windows — the signature of this Jingdezhen technique.
Is the dragon motif hand-applied?
The cobalt dragon-and-flaming-pearl design follows the classic pattern; small differences between pieces are normal for this decorated ware.
Daily use or cabinet piece?
It is glazed porcelain made for the table — use it. The backlight party trick is simply a bonus at dinner.

Girlfriend approved. Got this for my girlfriend and she adores the little cat bead. The pink is soft and pretty. Knocked a star because the cord felt a bit short at first, but once we loosened the knot it was fine.

Lovely, with a handmade touch. Beautiful classic blue and white, lid fits snugly and it holds heat well. Took one star off because the lotus painting is a little different from the close-up shot — but they do say every piece is hand-painted, so I get it. Still a gorgeous gaiwan for the price.

Unreal glaze. The flambe glaze on this set is stunning — deep cobalt with these fiery streaks that no photo fully captures. Pours cleanly and the cups feel great in the hand. Makes my afternoon tea feel a little ceremonial.
