Material & craft

The body is glazed a warm cream with fine dark specks, closer to old stoneware than bright white porcelain. The banana leaves and shoulder ring are brushed in grey-blue underglaze, so the pattern sits under the surface and will not rub off.

Why we selected it

Each jar is painted by hand before glazing — leaf veins are drawn line by line, which is why no two jars match exactly. The lid is cut to rest flush on the shoulder rather than snap tight.

Is the lid airtight?
No — it is a fitted ceramic lid that rests flush, like traditional tea jars. For long-term storage we suggest keeping tea in its foil pouch inside the jar.
Will the painted pattern fade?
The motif is painted under the glaze, so it will not scratch or wash off with normal use.
Are all jars identical?
No. The leaves are brushed by hand, so line weight and tone differ slightly between jars — please allow for this.

Pretty AND functional. The lid seals nicely so my oolong actually stays fresh. The hand-painted blue and white is lovely, and I love that it's a working jar rather than just decoration. Came wrapped like they genuinely cared about it arriving intact.

A real statement piece. Stunning set. The dragon pattern is sharp and the nesting design saves so much cupboard space. The rice-grain windows glow when the light hits them. Worth every dollar — this is the centerpiece of my table now.

Pretty and practical. Lovely tumbler, the raised floral design is really nice to touch. Keeps my tea warm and the straw is handy for work. 4 stars because the lid was a bit tight to get on at first, though it did loosen up after a few uses.
