Material & craft

The celadon glaze is palest green — close to white until the light moves across it. It pools slightly at the foot of each cup, where the color deepens toward jade.

Why we selected it

The ewer follows the classic Song profile: bulb body, tall neck, arched handle with a scrolled thumb rest, and a bud-shaped finial on the lid. The tray's low rim catches drips from the pour.

Lovely, with a handmade touch. Beautiful classic blue and white, lid fits snugly and it holds heat well. Took one star off because the lotus painting is a little different from the close-up shot — but they do say every piece is hand-painted, so I get it. Still a gorgeous gaiwan for the price.

Unreal glaze. The flambe glaze on this set is stunning — deep cobalt with these fiery streaks that no photo fully captures. Pours cleanly and the cups feel great in the hand. Makes my afternoon tea feel a little ceremonial.
